Reasons Behind Not Working Issue

  • You have entered the wrong web address.
  • The web address has been typed in the search bar of the web browser.
  • Technical glitches can also stop you from accessing
  • The Ethernet cable connection between your devices is not secure.
  • The gap between your extender and router is immense.
  • You haven’t performed new extender setup properly.
  • You haven’t updated the firmware of your Netgear extender timely.
  • VPN or proxy is enabled on your WiFi-enabled device.
  • The signals of your Netgear extender are getting interrupted or blocked.

Troubleshooting Not Working Issue

  • Make sure that you type the default web address of your Netgear wireless range extender into the address bar of your web browser. Avoid typos while doing so. Also, cross-check the web address that you have entered.
  • Check the Ethernet cable connecting your Netgear extender and your home router. Is it worn out or damaged from anywhere? If your answer turns out to be yes, then get your Ethernet cable replaced with a new one.
  • If the distance between your Netgear extender and home router is too much, the communication between them won’t take place effortlessly. Therefore, ensure that your wireless devices are placed in close proximity.
  • Rebooting your Netgear extender is another way to troubleshoot the not working issue. To reboot your extender, you need to unplug it from its wall socket, wait for some time, and then, plug it back again.
  • If you are still struggling with the not working issue, consider disabling the VPN or proxy on your WiFi-enabled device temporarily.
  • Keep in mind that your Netgear extender is kept away transmitting appliances, metal objects, electronic devices, and reflexive surfaces.
  • You can also try performing new extender setup in order to get rid of the not working issue.
  • Switch on your computer.
  • Launch an internet browser.
  • In the address field of the browser, type
  • Press the Enter key.
  • The official login page of your Netgear extender will come into view.
  • Type the default admin username and password in their respective fields.
  • Click the Log In button.
  • Once you are on the new extender setup wizard, go to Settings.
  • Under the Password option, enter the password you want your device to have.
  • Click the Save button.
